S450: Will the AUTO or SLEEP mode remain activated the next time the device is switched on?

No, as the device does not have a backup battery, the previously selected settings are discarded when the device is switched off and must be saved again the next time the device is switched on.

Do Steamers make noise during operation?

Occasional, brief noises can occur, especially when heating the water. Otherwise, evaporators are rather quiet during operation and their noise is usually only audible in the background.

U350: How do I delete the water change symbol on the display?

After the appliance is disconnected from the power supply to empty the water and refill with fresh water and then switched on again, the symbol for the water change is automatically deleted.

U350: How do I delete the ISS replacement symbol on the display?

U250: How do I delete the ISS replacement symbol on the display?

After replacing the A7017 Ionic Silver Stick® , delete the symbol on the display by holding down the “On/Off” button and the “regulate power” button simultaneously for 3 seconds.

U200: Can the blue lighting be switched off?

The blue lighting can be switched on and off using the slide switch on the back of the base. The red lighting (no water) cannot be switched off.

U7146: Can the blue lighting be switched off?

No, this option is not available.

Air Washer: desired relative humidity is not achieved

  • Due to the natural evaporation principle, more time is needed for the humidity to rise.
  • The air circulation in the room is very high. Close doors and windows.
  • The device is placed near a poorly insulated window or door, which causes air circulation. In the case of high rooms, wooden buildings and wooden furniture, the humidification of the indoor air takes correspondingly longer.
  • The windows are open, which allows cold and dry air to enter the room. Close window. Do not do without shock ventilation.

W400: The App always shows a value of 5°C and 10% relative humidity

Power off/on does not reset the sensor.

To restart the sensor, unplug the device and wait at least 2 minutes before reconnecting the device to the power supply.

Air Washer: Do Air Washer make noise during operation?

Air Washers are extremely quiet in operation and only produce a gentle noise reminiscent of white noise. Models with an additional water tank work on the principle of a bird bath. Every now and then, there may be "gurgling" noises when water flows into the tub. These noises are perfectly normal and a sign that the device is working properly.

Air Washer: Does an Air Washer filter odors from the air?

Air Washers can contribute to the purification of indoor air, but they are primarily designed for air humidification.

For effective air purification and odor control, we recommend the HYBRID Humidifier & Air Purifier H700 device or one of our BONECO Air Purifiers.

Air Washer: What accessories are necessary for an Air Washer?

The A7017 Ionic Silver Stick® prevents the growth of microbes in the water pan (changed 1x per year).

The AW200 Evaporator Mat is responsible for the natural humidification of the indoor air (cleaning every 2 weeks, descaling as required, change every 2 years).

We recommend the A7417 Calc Off Cleaner and Descaler for BONECO Humidifiers (descaling as needed).

Air Washer: Can the AW200 Evaporator Mat be cleaned?

Yes, the AW200 Evaporator Mat can be cleaned either by hand or at max. 40°C in the washing machine and thus has a lifespan of up to 2 years.

No, this is not possible because the A7018 Evaporator Mat is made of paper. We recommend replacing the evaporator mat every 10-12 weeks to ensure hygienic operation.

S450: Display error messages F1/F2 and E2

F1/F2 = No error code - Test function dimmer / hygrosensor - The test mode must be run through and completed.

E2 = Humidity above 90% - Safety stop (check/replace sensor)

The BONECO S450 is equipped with a descaling function. After the cleaning time has elapsed, the cleaning symbol will automatically turn off. Alternatively, press and hold both adjustment buttons (up arrow and down arrow) at the same time for about 5 seconds to manually delete the symbol.

S250: I have cleaned the device, but the cleaning symbol still appears, what can I do?

Press the adjustment buttons together for about 5 seconds, after which the sybmol will go out.

Is there a risk of burns in the event of contact with the steam ejection?

No, the steam is cooled by a ventilation system so that it is released into the room air lukewarm.

What accessories are necessary for a Steamer?

The A451 Anti-Mineral-Pad reduces the calcification of the evaporator shell and reduces the frequency of necessary descaling. We recommend the A7417 CalcOff Cleaner and Descaler for BONECO Humidifiers. Ionic Silver Stick® is not needed for steamers, as bacterial growth is inhibited by heating the water.

Do Evaporators make noise during operation?

Occasional, short-term noises can occur especially when the water is heated. Otherwise, vaporizers are rather quiet in operation, and their noises are usually only perceptible in the background.

Where do I place my Steamer?

Please always place your Steamer on a stable surface on the floor! A Steamer should never be placed on an elevated surface, as this can pose several safety hazards such as tipping over and the uneven distribution of the steam!

My steamer is on, but no steam is coming out

S250, S450:
The S250 & S450 are equipped with a hygrometer, which automatically regulates the power of the device to reach the selected humidity. When this value is reached, the device no longer emits steam. If the desired value has not yet been reached and no steam is escaping, please read the next section.

S200, S250, S450:
If your appliance no longer emits steam, please check whether there are limescale residues on the heating plate. For your safety, this device is equipped with an automatic safety shut-off of the heating plate, which is triggered in the event of heavy limescale residue. Please clean your device as described in the user manual.

U350: How do I delete the cleaning symbol on the display?

After cleaning is complete, clear the message on the display by pressing and holding the "On/Off" button for about 3 seconds.

U700: How do I delete the cleaning symbol on the display?

The BONECO U700 is equipped with a descaling function. Once the cleaning time has elapsed, the cleaning symbol will automatically turn off.

Alternatively, the descaling process can be canceled at any time using the “On/Off” button.

U700: The appliance does not produce mist

1) Check that the red valve on the water tank cap has been removed

2) Check whether a target humidity has been stored on your device and whether it has been reached (device will then automatically interrupt operation).

3) Remove the A250 AQUA PRO (descaling cartridge) and test whether the device is now producing mist:

  • Device works without A250: Immerse the A250 in water (again) for 2-3 minutes and now try operation again with A250; Replace the used A250 after 6 months at the latest. Using the device without an A250 is strongly discouraged!
  • Device does not work even without A250: Check whether the float (white ring) can be moved in the nebulizer chamber. If this is stuck, we recommend descaling, as it can jam due to limescale deposits.

U250: The appliance does not produce mist

1) Check whether a target humidity has been stored on your device and whether it has been reached (device then automatically interrupts operation).

2) Remove the A250 AQUA PRO (descaling cartridge) and test if the device is now producing mist:

  • Device works without A250: Immerse the A250 in water (again) for 2-3 minutes and now try operation again with A250; Replace the used A250 after 6 months at the latest. Using the device without an A250 is strongly discouraged!
  • Device does not work even without A250: Check whether the membrane is contaminated or calcified. If this is the case, we recommend descaling, as the membrane may no longer function properly due to limescale deposits.

U350: Can the blue lighting be switched off?

U50: Can I use essential oil in my U50?

No - even a small amount is enough to damage the plastic and the Ultrasonic unit.

How should Ultrasonics be placed?

Do not place the Ultrasonic directly on the ground, but on a raised surface.

The nozzles should be aligned in such a way that the mist does not fall back on the device and possibly falsify the measured values, but in the opposite direction into the open space.

U350: Display error message E1

E1 stands for a problem with filling the Ultrasonic chamber. This means that no / too little water flows in. Possible causes:

1) The A250 filter cartridge contains air or is clogged. Please remove the A250 and try again. If that works, water the cartridge again or replace it.

2) Refill valve or float glued. Dissolve some CalcOff in lukewarm water and add it to both chambers. Leave it on and turn the device on/off several times

U200: The appliance does not produce mist

Remove the A250 AQUA PRO (descaling cartridge) and test whether the device is now producing mist:

  • Device works without A250: Immerse the A250 in water (again) for 2-3 minutes and now try operation again with A250; Replace the used A250 after 6 months at the latest. Using the device without an A250 is strongly discouraged!

Can ultrasound be perceived as annoying?

BONECO Ultrasonic Humidifiers work with very high frequencies (approx. 3 MHz), which are outside the audible range of humans and pets. By comparison, very few animals such as bats and some dolphins can perceive this high frequency.

Can I use the U50, U100 and U7146 in my home or office?

Basically, these devices are intended for travel in hotel rooms, but can also be used at home or in the office. Humidification takes place exclusively in the immediate vicinity. Please pay attention to the careful cleaning of the device, as the device does not contain a descaling cartridge.

When does the A250 AQUA PRO need to be replaced?

  • Every 6 months, depending on water hardness and frequency of start-up of the Ultrasonic.
  • With a reduction in fog emissions.
  • If white limescale deposits form around the device.

Why should treated water not be used for a Ultrasonic?

With treated water (ion exchanger), the limescale is filtered out of the water, but at the same time sodium ions are added to the water. These sodium ions are not filtered through the descaling cartridge and leave behind a white precipitate.
